In an effort to distract myself from ill-advised ficplanning and continual F5-ing of way too many WIPs I am addicted to, I drew troll!me.

I suspect it will become an icon if I can get the scanner to cooperate.

Yeah, it's becoming clear I have it pretty bad for this fandom! *facepalming*

My skull is bubbling over with ideas for my Yuletide story!

However, so far my actual progress is so nonexistent that I don't even have a blank Word document to show for all my grey matter's seethings.

Why the disconnect, brain and fingers? This is what we call Very Not Good, with the deadline only four days away!

I found an "analyse your writing style" quiz via the friendslist, and on a whim I copy/pasted a snippet of Sherlock fic that I started back when I was ploughing through the kinkmeme(s).

Result?

I missed this week's Criminal Minds due to technical difficulties. *grump grump grump*

I mean this in a completely nonsexual way, but: Abby Sciuto? She can offer to show me her mass spectrometer ANY. TIME. [/sciencegeekery]

I am also quite envious of her collar, and saying that's not my usual sort of accessory is putting things mildly. But it's just so interesting, with the spikes and the triple loops! I've never seen one like it, and I really like it!)

It's a rerun -- "Mosley Lane" (5.16).

Reid is so pretty. *dies* I just... Much as I try to appreciate his various haircuts, I cannot entirely shake the deep attachment I have to longhaired!Reid. It just... it has that little wave! And the ends stick out slightly! And it frames his face and makes him look so freakin' well-groomed yet casual, but one hundred percent adorable! (Now if only he'd start wearing his glasses again... but I won't push my luck, here.)

SO PRETTY. First thing I am going to do with my new box set of seasons one through five is make an episode guide for myself. One of the things I will be noting for each is Reid's Hair Length. (Why is this not standard on all episode guides? My fangirlish heart will never understand!)

I'll also be noting every instance of Morgan kicking down a door. Oooh, and every time Garcia and Morgan do adorable flirting in the middle of a case. Also, every illegal hack Garcia does.

...I just realised: my episode guide? Is a Criminal Minds: the Drinking Game cheat sheet! *gleeful giggling* Hey, guys, wanna play a game...? :D

---------
Whoa. He directed this episode! I didn't know Reid was also a director! (Erm. The actor who plays Reid, I mean, not Reid. Really, I do know better than to confuse them mentally; it's just that I don't make the distinction verbally. I promise.)

Criminal Minds is supposed to be appropriate for ages fourteen and up!?

Maybe I'm overreacting -- and I definitely feel like a curmudgeon -- but given what I've been looking at in the last few episodes -- a murdered and sexually abused six-year-old, photos of a woman who's been tortured to death, a man's arm that was dissected down to the bone, children being held hostage -- I really would not want fourteen-year-olds watching this. o.O

This sort of disturbingly emphasises my prior suspicions that most of the FF.Net authors writing CM fic are between the ages of 12 and 14. It's somewhat alarming that the show says it's okay for fourteen-year-olds; it's a much more disconcerting feeling I get when I realise that they appear to be a significant segment of the audience!

Still musing over my reactions to a mandatory anon policy, and though I haven't reached any major conclusions, I've made some further inroads into mapping out my reactions.

A few elaborations on the topic I have managed to reason out. )

Someone just created a kinkmeme for a small fandom I've long been a fan of, though never written in.

Why, you may ask, is that sentence not followed by an exclamation point?

The creator(s) have made the meme mandatorily anon-only.

This has happened with at least one other kinkmeme for a small(ish) fandom I'm part of, and I found that it somehow puts me off. I've thought about it several times, and I can't exactly pin down why I dislike it, aside from It's probably a combination of laziness and lack of shame. I may have come to better conclusions in the past, but right now I am sleep deprived and under-caffeinated, so I cannot recall them or re-think them out. (Insert cat macro here: "I thunk yu guyz sum meta, but I forgetted it"?)

I'm 100% for people having the right to be anonymous on the internet, and that includes kinkmemes! But being told that I have to be anonymous results in serious levels of Do Not Want.

Am I the only person in the universe who has this reaction to mandatory-anon policies? Is there someone out there who has the ability to prod my grey matter and figure out why this irks me?

Thoughts, anyone?
